四合院作为老北京最具代表性的建筑,目前正以一定的数量逐年递减,对传统的北京四合院改造设计已经迫在眉睫。北京四合院作为一种古老传统的中国特色建筑形式,它的空间、造型、材料、色彩、布局、景观都将成为新时期传承与创新的源泉,这对中国城市建筑传承与创新有着不可磨灭的导向性。改造设计应该在不破环生态环境,且保留具中国特色的文化符号和不破坏原址的情况下,采用传承与创新的方法对四合院进行现代化设计,使此建筑既符合现代住房标准,又具有老北京的文化特色。
