摘要
本研究以我国21个省市287名人力资源部门的招聘者为调查对象,采用问卷调查和深入访谈的方式,考察分析了职场英语能力现状与需求。调查结果表明:(1)超过半数招聘者对员工整体英语水平的评价不高;(2)多数单位的整体英语使用频率较高,单位招聘一般主要关注英语交流能力,对具体英语技能的需求则因单位类型、业务特点而异;(3)多数单位会对在岗员工提供英语培训,但不同类型单位的培训侧重的英语技能有所不同。基于调查结果,研究进而对大学英语教学提出了相应建议。
With 287 employers of human resource departments from 21 provinces and cities as the subjects, this study investigates the status quo and needs of English competence in the workplace of China via questionnaires and follow-up interviews. The results show that : ( 1 ) more than half of the employers do not think highly of the employees' English competence in their work units; (2) English is frequently used in most work units, which often place a high value on English communication skills in recruiting employees, but differences could be observed in the needs of Eng- lish skills due to different types and business features of work units ; (3) most work units would provide English train- ing to employees, while the focused English skills vary according to the types and business features of work units. Based on the results, the study further puts forward some suggestions for college English teaching.
