OBJECTIVE To explore the value of CT in diagnosis of intracranial infectious diseases so as to provide guidance for clinical treatment of intracranial infections.METHODS A total of 72 patients with intracranial infections who were treated in the hospital from Oct 2014 to Oct 2016 were enrolled in the study, all of the 72 patients received the CT plain scanning and CT enhanced scanning. The diagnostic characteristics, accuracy rate and detection rate were observed and compared between the CT enhanced scanning and the CT plain scanning.RESULTS Of the 72 patients,17(23.6%)had tuberculous meningitis,15(20.8%)had suppurative meningitis, and 35(48.6%)had viral meningitis. The result of physical examination showed that 44(61.1%)had neck pain, and 40(55.6%)were complicated with language disorders;there were 42(58.3%)cases of intracranial hypertension,34(47.2%)cases of mental disorder,12(16.7%)cases of epilepsy,46(63.9%)cases of dysphoria,50(69.4%)cases of headache and 48(66.7%)cases of fever. The accuracy rate of the CT enhanced scanning was 80.6%,significantly higher than 38.9% of the CT plain scanning;the detection rate of the CT enhanced scanning was 88.9%,significantly higher than 47.2% of the CT plain scanning(P〈0.05).CONCLUSION CT shows certain research value in diagnosis of the intracranial infectious diseases, and the accuracy rate and detection rate of the CT enhanced scanning are relatively high.
