The horizons of Chinese film theory were activated and expanded further in 2017, featured by strong senses of tracking new and cutting-edge theories, varied perspectives of examining existing phenomena at home and abroad, and rapid reaction of reflecting hot topics. The overview of theoretical criticism of Chinese film in 2017 can be sununarized as scattered perspectives and focused essentials.
