Objective To explore the effect of wide and narrow alternate tension suture on the incision healing postoperative calcaneal fracture. Methods 73 patients with calcaneal fracture who underwent open reduction and internal fixation in our hospital from May 2013 to October 2016, were selected as the research object and divided into 2 groups by random drawing method. The control group(n=37) was treated by simple interrupted suture suture, while the observation group(n=36) was treated with wide alternating alternate tension suture. The wound healing was compared between the two groups. Results The good rate of foot function recovery was 94.44% in the observation group and 89.19% in the control group, and the difference between two groups was not obvious(P〉0.05). The rate of wound healing in the observation group was 97.22%, which was obviously better than that of the control group in 78.38%(P〈0.05). The incidence of complications associated with incision in the observation group was 2.78%, which was lower than control group(21.62%), and the difference was statistically significant(P〈0.05). Conclusion During the treatment of open reduction and internal fixation with calcaneal fractures, the wide and narrow alternate tension suture can effectively promote the healing of incision, and reduce the incidence of complications. It is beneficial to the recovery of the patient at an early date.
