摘要
针对传统多路径路由方法造成数据中心网络负载不均衡、吞吐量低的问题,提出了一种基于SDN的多路径流调度(SDN based multipath flow scheduling,SMFS)机制。结合SDN能够获取全局网络视图的优势,SMFS采用周期性轮询和动态流调度的方法实现良好的负载均衡,进而提高全网吞吐量。为减少控制器与交换机之间的交互带来的网络额外负载,SMFS有选择地对部分大流进行重新调度,并利用分段路由(segment routing,SR)技术实现重路由,提高了流的传输速率。实验结果表明,相比于传统等价多路径路由(equal-cost multi-path routing,ECMP)和现有集中式流调度机制,SMFS能够有效提高数据中心网络的吞吐量,降低流平均完成时间,并保证较好的负载均衡。
In order to solve the problems of poor load balancing and low throughput caused by traditional multi-path routing mechanisms in data center networks,this paper proposed an SDN based multipath flow scheduling( SMFS) mechanism. By taking advantage of software defined network centralized control,SMFS achieved good load balancing and high throughput through periodic polling and dynamic flow scheduling. To reduce the control traffic between the controller and switches,SMFS rescheduled elephant flows selectively. What's more,it used segment routing to reroute elephant flows,which improved the transmission rate significantly. The experimental results show that SMFS improves the network throughput,reduces the flow completion time and ensures load balancing compared with ECMP( equal-cost multi-path routing) and typical centralized flow scheduling mechanisms.
