Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Shenkang injection combined with reduced glutathione in the treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD). Methods A total of 70 CKD patients were randomly divided into control group with 34 patients and treatment group with 36 patients. The patients in the control group were given conventional treatment, and those in the treatment group were given intravenous drip of Shenkang injection combined with reduced glutathione in addition to the conventional treatment. The course of treatment was 4 weeks for both groups. The clinical outcome was observed for the two groups, as well as blood urea nitrogen (BUN), serum creatinine (SCr), estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), and cystatin C (Cys-C) before and after treatment. Results There was a significant difference in the distribution of clinical outcomes between the two groups (P〈0.05), and the treatment group had a significantly better clinical outcome than the control group (P〈0.05). The treatment group had significant reductions in the levels of BUN, SCr, and Cys-C and a significant increase in eGFR after treatment (P〈0.05); there were significant differences in BUN, SCr, Cys-C, and eGFR between the two groups before and after treatment (P〈0.05). Conclusion Shenkang injection combined with reduced glutathione has a good clinical effect in the treatment of CKD.
