Objective To explore the relationship among professional adaptability, group attachment and academic help-seeking in college nursing students. Methods Total 840 college nursing students were investigated with the professional adaptability scale, the group attachment scale and the academic help-seeking scale by stratified sampling method. Results The total score and the dimensions of professional adaptability were negatively correlated with the total score and the two dimensions of group attachment(r=-0.38 to-0.08,all P〈0.05),as well as the score of avoidance of academic help-seeking(r=-0.24 to-0.16,P〈0.001),while positively correlated with instrumental help-seeking(r=0.26 to 0.30,P〈0.001).The result of structural equation modeling indicated that instrumental help-seeking and avoidance of academic help-seeking had a partial mediating effect on the relationship between group attachment avoidance and professional adaptability. The value of mediating effect was 22%and 21%respectively.Conclusions The nursing educators should improve the level of students' group attachment and professional adaptability according to the characteristics of students' academic help-seeking.
