高中生英语书面语句法复杂性与多样性发展实证研究

摘要 本研究以某高中高三学生一学年数次英语作文为语料,以L2SCA为测量工具,辅助人工标记计算,检测学习者的句法复杂性和多样性动态发展特征。主要以L2SCA来分析句法复杂性,以人工标记计算来分析句子多样性,同时以Wolfe-Quintero等的句法发展次序为指标,来验证学习者的句法发展特点。研究发现高三学生句法复杂性处于"并列句—副词性从句—名词性从句/形容词从句"之间,句法多样性发展的广度和深度不足,状语从句使用频率最高,并列复合句累赘使用以及其他句式使用较少,强调句、倒装句、紧缩子句使用频率偏低。最后提出可采取句子合并、句子改写、语内转写、语际翻译等教学干预提高学生书面语的句法复杂性和多样性的意识和能力。 The present study makes an attempt to testify the dynamic development of syntactical complexities andvariations of senior three students' writing by L2 Syntactic Complexity Analyzer, assisted with human computing. Theformer is utilized to analyze syntactical complexities and the latter is used to count the variations. Meanwhile, theindex of Wolfe-Quintero et al's syntactical development sequence is used to testify language-learners’ syntacticaldevelopment characteristics. The finding shows that the syntactical complexities of senior three students lie among"compound sentence, adverbial clause, nominal and attributive clause"and that the width and depth of syntacticalvariations are inadequate, among which adverbial clauses and compound sentences are frequently used, while othersentential forms rarely, such as emphatic sentence, inverted sentence and English reduced structures. In addition,teaching interventions, such as sentence-combing, redrafting, intro-lingual transliteration and interlingual translation,are suggested to promote students’ awareness and competence in syntactical complexities and variations.
