摘要
为探明扬子鳄(Alligator sinensis)幼鳄求救鸣声的声谱特征及其个体签名,本研究通过模拟"天敌袭击"刺激14只1日龄幼鳄发出求救鸣声,并对其求救鸣声进行分析。1日龄幼鳄求救鸣声由多组持续叠加的谐波组成,并伴随强烈的向上调频和向下调频。独立样本t-检验显示,除结束频率和总时长外(P> 0. 05),1日龄幼鳄的求救鸣声的其余声音参数与出壳后鸣声相应参数相比均存在显著差异(P <0. 05); Kruskal-Wallis检验显示,1日龄扬子鳄幼鳄求救鸣声的9个声音参数在个体间均具有显著差异(P <0. 01);判别分析显示,原始数集中52. 6%的鸣声被正确分配到相应的个体,且显著高于随机数集中鸣声被正确分配的概率。本研究结果可以得出以下结论:1)幼鳄求救鸣声与出壳后鸣声的声音类别不同; 2)扬子鳄幼鳄求救鸣声具有个体签名音。这暗示母鳄可能会根据求救鸣声识别其幼鳄。
The aims of this research were to analyze in detail the spectral characteristics of distress calls of Chinese alligator( Alligator sinensis )hatchlings and their individual signature.In this study,we recorded and analyzed distress calls from 14 one-day old Chinese alligator hatchlings by a simulation of “predator attack”.Distress calls of one-day old Chinese alligator hatchlings featured a pronounced initial upward frequency modulation(FM)followed by a downward FM,and comprised multiple harmonics with the third harmonic containing the highest energy.Independent Samples t -test showed that all 9 sound parameters analyzed,except the total duration and the terminal frequency( P 〉 0.05),were significantly different between those of the distress calls and the post-hatching calls( P〈 0.05).Kruskal-Wallis test showed that all 9 sound parameters differed significantly among individuals( P 〈 0.01 ).Discriminant function analysis further showed that 52.6% of distress calls were correctly assigned to individual hatchlings – this was significantly higher than that of a random assignment.In this study we can draw the following conclusions:1)although distress calls and post-hatching calls shared similar FM features,they belonged to two separate classes of vocal signals.2)distress calls of Chinese alligator hatchlings possessed individual call signatures,giving mother alligators the possibility to recognize their hatchlings on the basis of their distress calls.
