Taking the alsthom 600MW unit's cold start in some plant as an example, this paper commits some on-line computation with an on-line computing system for high and intermediate pressure rotors' stress and life loss. Also it thoroughly analyzes some problems relating with the start process. At last, based on some computing, it presents some thoughts about intermediate pressure cylinder start process. Figs 3, tables 2 and refs 4.
