Astragali Radix had abundant medicinal compositions of saponins, flavonoids, polysaccharides and trace elements.A present hotspot was experiment mechanism study of Astragali Radix and its medicinal compositions on pulmonary fibrosis(PF),including astragalus polysaccharide(APS),astragalosideⅣ(AST),cycloastragenol(CAG),total saponins of astragalus(TSA),total flavonoids of astragalus(TFA),and watery extract of astragalus(WEA).A large number of domestic and foreign studies focused on revealling the intervention mechanism of Astragali Radix and its medicinal compositions on PF from the perspective of regulating signal transduction pathways, regulating key factors and gene expression of cell differentiation, regulating oxidative stress(OS)response, regulating inflammatory response, improving histomorphology, activating telomerase, and regulating extracellular matrix(ECM)and matrixmetalloproteinases. However, most studies of them only investigated the single factor or signal pathway, and lacked of attention to network regulation relationship of multiple mechanisms.Based on multi-level,multi-angle and systematic biology, the study of intervention mechanism and treatment target of Astragali Radix and its medicinal compositions on PF should be the research emphasis in follow up study.
