Objective:To investigate the therapeutic effect of local minocycline ointment and metronidazole gel in the treatment of periodontitis.Methods:116 patients with periodontitis admitted from 2011 to 2014 were randomly divided into two groups,58 cases in each group. The control group was treated with minocycline ointment. The patients in the observation group were treated with metronidazole. The changes of periodontitis index, therapeutic effect, adverse reaction, inflammatory factor level, pain score and adverse emotion score were compared between the two groups. Results:The patients in the observation group were treated with minocycline ointment. After treatment, the changes of periodontitis index, adverse reaction, inflammatory factor level, pain score and adverse emotion score in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the therapeutic effect in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, with a significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion:After comparing the effect of local minocycline ointment and metronidazole gel in the treatment of periodontitis,it is found that the local application of minocycline ointment can effectively improve the clinical symptoms of patients with periodontitis.Reducing the incidence of adverse reactions is beneficial to improve the therapeutic effect. The comprehensive effect is better and the safety is high.
