Objective To explore the application effect of self-management model in newly diagnosed diabetic patients. Methods A total of140newly diagnosed diabetic patients were randomly divided into observation group and control group,with70cases in each group. The control group was given routine diabetes nursing, while the observation group was given self-management model of diabetes on the basis of routine diabetes nursing. The quality of life,self-management behavior and levels of biochemical indicators of the two groups were observed at discharge and3,6months after discharge. Results At3and6months after discharge, the scores of physiological function, psychological function, social relationship and treatment of the two groups significantly decreased, and those of the observation group were significantly lower than the control group at6months after discharge(P<0.05).At3and6months after discharge, the SDSCA scores of both groups increased significantly, and those in the observation group were higher than the control group(P<0.05).At3and6months after discharge, the levels of FBG,2h PBG,HbAlc and BMI in the two groups significantly decreased, and those of the observation group were significantly lower than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Self-management model intervention for newly diagnosed diabetic patients can effectively control blood sugar and improve their quality of life.
