摘要
诚明问题是宋明理学关注的重点之一,《中庸》中通过"诚""明"来讨论天道与人道之间的关系,这为宋明理学家们继承与发展。理学家追求将天道之诚内化在自我的道德修养中,以达致内圣外王、天人合一的境界。但宋明理学诸家对于诚、明的基本看法各有不同,并且引出了本体与工夫论的观念分歧;这一分歧在"鹅湖之辩"达到顶峰,并表现为"自诚而明"与"自明而诚"的不同进学道路。事实上,虽然"诚而明"与"明而诚"分别指涉了本体之发挥与修养之所致,但两种路径本身的向上发挥都是对诚的追求,同为进学之路的目的就在于天道与人道的相融、本体与功夫的合一,宋明理学家们在诚明合一中实现了对"天人合一"的追求。
Sincerity and Enlightment is one of the hot spots of the Neo-Confucianism.In"The Doctrine of the Mean",the relationship between heaven and humanity is discussed through"sincerity"and"Enlightment",which is inherited by the scholars of the Song and Ming dynasties.The philosophers pursue the integration of the sincerity of heaven into the self-cultivation of morality,thereby realizing the value of self,so as to achieve the realm of the inner king and the unity of heaven and man.However,the philosophers have different opinions on the basic views of sincerity and Enlightment,which leads to the divergence of ideas between the ontology and the self-cultivation.This disagreement reached its climax in"The Debate of Goose Lake",which shows the difference between"from sincerity to Englightment"and"from Englightment to sincerity".In fact,"sincerity and Enlightment"and"Englightment and sincerity"respectively refer to the development of ontology and cultivation,however,the development through the two approaches is the pursuit of sincerity.The purpose of learning them together lies in the integration of heaven and humanity,ontology and the self-cultivation.The scholars of Song and Ming dynasties realized the pursuit of"the integration of heaven and man"in the integration of sincerity and Enlightment.
