摘要
本文对ESP及其基本教育理念进行简要介绍,并讨论在ESP理念指导下新建地方应用型本科院校大学英语教学改革及教师转型发展。该类院校教师要认清本校英语教学现状,充分领会ESP教学的指导作用,从学生学习动机、课堂环境创设和课程设置几个方面加强转型发展,以推动大学英语教学改革。
This paper gives a brief introduction to English for Specific Purposes,and discusses the developing potential of college English teaching reform in application-oriented universities under the guidance of ESP.College English teachers in such universities are supposed to comprehend the guiding functions of ESP,so as to develop teaching ability and facilitate college English reform from the following perspective:to appreciate learning motives of students,to create proper learning environments and to design ESP courses.
