In recent years, the questions about the pros and cons and the combinations of the master-apprentice education and academy education have become hot topics. This article explored the education mode of the combining the master-apprentice education and academy education model. The new inheritance patterns, including one-teacher and multi-student, one-student and multi-teacher, and multi-teacher and multi-student, were studied to find out the optimal path of the combination. Establishment of TCM clinical thinking teaching model is its entry point and the goal is to cultivate the new Chinese medicine talents. The core of TCM inheritance lies in the cultivation of the clinical thoughts of TCM. In several years of clinical teaching practice, we had gradually built the teaching mode of training clinical thoughts of TCM, which aimed at cultivating the students' abilities of thinking and solving clinical problems. We hope to transform the academic ideas of famous senior TCM doctors into the students' clinical thoughts of TCM through the academic salon, special rounds, teaching outpatient clinic and other forms. That will realize the advantageous complementarities of the mode of famous TCM doctor's experience inheriting and the mode of modern college education of TCM. Thus, the deficiency of academy education of TCM will be improved.
