Objective To explore the effects of hyperbaric oxygen therapy on cognitive impairment and daily living ability of the elderly. Methods The patients were assessed by the mini-mental State Examination(MMSE), and MMSE score was lower than 27. As the inclusion criteria, a total of60 cases were collected. Control group was treated with conventional drugs;Treatment group was given hyperbaric oxygen treatment on the basis of treatment in the control group. MMSE and ADL scores were compared before and after treatment. Results Before and after treatment, MMSE and ADL scores of the two groups were compared within the group, P <0.01, and the difference was statistically significant. After treatment, the two groups were compared between the two groups. The MMSE score and ADL score were both P <0.01. Conclusion Hyperbaric oxygen therapy can significantly improve cognitive function and daily living ability of the elderly, and it is a good rehabilitation method for the elderly to improve cognitive function, delay aging and improve their living ability.
