Objective:Determination the chroma values, transmittance and transparency of different nuclear porcelain porcelain layer thickness of Cercon CAD/CAM zirconia and IPS e.max hot die-cast porcelain all-ceramic restorations. Methods:Making different nuclear porcelain hierarchy thickness(0.5 mm,0.7 mm and 0.9 mm)of Cercon CAD/CAM zirconia and IPS e.max casting porcelain test piece, and using a Minolta(CR-321)colorimeter and PERKIN ELMER spectrophotometer to measure the chromaticity values, transparency and transmittance of the test piece. Results:With the increasing thickness of core of ceramic material, its lightness value decreased and a~*,b~* value increased. With the same thickness of core, two ceramic materials’ chroma values were different.Cercon zirconia was red compared with IPS e.max Press, and IPS e.max Press cast porcelain was yellow compared with Cercon zirconia. Conclusion:The core material thickness will effect on the material optical properties. When restoration is made, different material and different thickness of core should be chosen for best effect.
