Qilian Mountain is an important ecological security barrier in western China. And it is an important water source of the Yellow River and also a priority area for the protection of China's biodiversity. However, it is an area with extremely fragile ecology. The ecosystem is vulnerable to natural conditions, and its carrying capacity is low, repair ability is weak, and easy to destroy. In recent years, in order to repair the ecological environment and completely help the farmers and herdsmen in Qilian Mountain get rid of poverty and become rich, Wuwei City has relocated the poor households in the arid mountainous area of Qilian Mountain at an altitude of 2,800 meters to the irrigation area of Hexi to realize the overall poverty alleviation. How to restore vegetation by relocating and returning cultivated land in arid mountainous areas? We arrived at the Tiegui village of Shilibao Township in Wuwei, conducted 12 experiments on the introduction and cultivation of high-quality pasture species, and do research on their growth characteristics, yield, and other related traits. Finally, the high quality forage varieties suitable for the relocation of Qilian Mountain immigrants in arid mountainous areas are selected, which will provide varieties and technical guarantees for the forage cultivation of arable land in large resettlement areas.
