The particularity of the pattern composition leads a great national characteristic and a unique art style to the geometric Song style brocade.Based on the literature research method,the article clarifies the concept of the large geometric Song style brocade in Ming and Qing dynasties.We brief the distinct art styles during the changing histories,analyze their visual contents by looking into the composition of the patterns,and dissect their art features and components through the outstanding skeletons.After all,we offer a new idea and a new way to the nowadays designers:How to understand our tradition patterns of the large geometric Song style brocade in Ming and Qing dynasties in a practical and modern way thinking.
