摘要
“中国文化失语”是很多中国的英语学习者所面临的问题:他们往往对于西方文化了解深入,而对于如何表达中国文化却不知所措。同时,现有的英语教材中关于中国文化的题材比例也较小。如何利用有限的课本资源上好有关中国文化内容的英语课对于广大教师来说颇具挑战。本文以初中英语教材Go for it!为例,探讨如何有效地利用教材的主题和资源,通过空间、时间和思想这三个维度,在英语课中培养中国学生对本国文化的意识,增强学生的民族自豪感以及用英语传播中国文化的能力。
“Silence toward Chinese Culture”is a problem that many English learners in China are facing.Many learners master a lot about Western culture but know little about how to introduce Chinese culture in English.Meanwhile,the content about Chinese culture accounts for a small proportion in English textbooks,which poses challenges for English teachers.This article discusses how to effectively make use of the theme and resources in junior high English textbooks(Go for it!)through the dimensions of time,space and thought so as to strengthen students’cultural awareness and pride toward their own nation and the ability of spreading Chinese culture.
