Based on the data of Chinese General Social Survey(CGSS)in 2015,the logistic regression model is used to deeply explore the internal and external factors influencing and restricting the fertility intention of women of childbearing age to have a second child. The results show that the fertility intention of women of childbearing age to have a second child is affected by the following six factors:residence, education, marital status, work status, health status, and ideological identity of preference for sons.Compared with rural women of childbearing age, urban women of childbearing age have weaker fertility intention to have a second child.Compared with women of childbearing age with college education or above, women of childbearing age with primary school education or below have stronger fertility intention to have a second child.Compared with women of childbearing age without a spouse, women of childbearing age with a spouse have stronger fertility intention to have a second child.Compared with women of childbearing age who are not engaged in off-farm work, women of childbearing age who are engaged in off-farm work are less willing to have a second child.Compared with unhealthy women of childbearing age, healthy women of childbearing age have stronger fertility intention to have a second child.Compared with the women of childbearing age with less or no preference for sons, the women of childbearing age with more preference for sons are more willing to have a second child.
