我和儿子马克在深及小腿的大雪中已跋涉数小时,K等我们抵达狂风大作的山顶时,因大雪之故,能见度不超过25尺(约7.6米)。我们前方某处,是很深的火山口与原本很想去攀登的火山环群峰。不过,当我们站上亚美尼亚高加索山一处最高峰时,对自己能爬这么高已是心满意足。
My son Marc and I had trom p ed through shin-deep snow for several hours,and by the time we reached the blustery top of the peak,we couldn’t see more than 25 feet because of a whiteout.Somewhere in front of us was a deep crater and the surrounding peaks of a volcanic rim we had hoped to reach.But as we stood on one of the highest peaks in the Armenian Caucasus Mountains,we were satisfied we’d made it this far.
