Objective To analyze the effect of root cause analysis in preventing acute foot pressure ulcers in patients with craniocerebral injury. Methods A total of 240 patients with craniocerebral injury admitted to our hospital from July 2017 to June 2019 were randomly selected as research objects to understand the rate of acute pressure ulcers in feet and nursing satisfaction before and after root cause analysis. Results The main causes of pressure ulcers are lack of fine system, inadequate training of nursing staff, insufficient attention of nursing staff, poor condition of patients’ foot skin, poor peripheral circulation, and lack of foot heat preservation tools and pressure ulcers prevention nursing tools. After the application of root cause analysis, the rate of acute pressure ulcers in the intraoperative foot(2.08%) was significantly lower than that before the application(10.83%), the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05), nursing satisfaction(98.75%) was significantly higher than that before the application(86.67%), the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion Root cause analysis has a very important role, it can help people to analyze the craniocerebral injury surgery patients with acute pressure sores in the foot, the formation of active prevention and improvement strategies, and ultimately, the incidence of acute pressure sores in the foot greatly reduced, the quality of care to a new level.
