Objective To investigate the cleaning effects and effectiveness of MTAD combined with sodium hypochlorite ultrasonic root canal washing in the treatment of refractory periapical periodontitis. Methods A total of 62 patients with refractory periapical infection admitted to the hospital from January 2016 to February 2018 were randomly divided into experimental group(n=31)and control group(n=31).In the control group, the root canal was washed by sodium hypochlorite ultrasound, while in the research group, the root canal was washed by MTAD combined with sodium hypochlorite ultrasound. Before and after root canal preparation, samples were taken from the root canal for bacterial culture and counting, and the bacterial reduction rate in the two groups was calculated and compared. The pain status, cleaning effect and curative effect of the two groups were compared. Results Compared with the control group, the bacterial colony count in the experimental group was reduced after root canal preparation,The bacteria reduction rate was increased, the proportion of grade 3 and 4 pain patients was decreased, and the treatment success rate was improved, and the difference of each indicator was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion MTAD combined with sodium hypochlorite ultrasonic root canal washing has a good cleaning effect in the treatment of refractory periapical periodontitis, and is greatly improving the treatment efficiency.
