There was no consensus on the influence of multi-dimensional boundary-spanning search on the balance of ambidexterity capacity. The boundary-spanning search activities of reverse internationalization enterprises(RIEs)have new characteristics because they are embedded in both domestic and foreign networks with different knowledge sources. Therefore,it is necessary to explore the impacts of boundary-spanning search on ambidexterity capacity of RIEs.Based on the theory of dual network embedding,boundary-spanning search and organizational ambidexterity,it constructed two kinds of boundary-spanning search interactive modes(single search interaction and cross search interaction)from a multi-dimensional perspective. And their different impacts on balance ambidexterity and combined ambidexterity were analyzed based on 212 sample RIEs.The results show that RIEs'single search interactions at home and abroad(focused search interaction at home and abroad,multi-focus search interaction at home and abroad)negatively affect the balance and combination of ambidexterity capacity. The cross-search interactions(domestic focused search and foreign multi-focus search interaction, domestic multi-focus and foreign focused search interaction)have positive effects on the balance of ambidexterity capacity, but have the inverted U-shaped effects on the combined ambidexterity capacity.
