Objective:To investigate the therapeutic effect of controlled decompression on severe craniocerebral injury in middle and old age patients.Methods:75 patients with severe craniocerebral injury in our hospital were selected as the subjects, who were randomized into the control group(n=37)and study group(n=38).Patients in the control group received large bone flap decompression;while patients in the study group received controlled decompression. Then, the complications and intracranial pressure of patients were compared before surgery,1 day and 1 month after surgeries were compared between both groups. Results:The incidence of complications in the study group was 5.26%,significantly lower than 29.73%of the control group. There was no statistical significance of intracranial pressure level before surgery between both groups(P>0.05).1 day and 1 month after surgery, the average intracranial pressure in the study group was significantly better than that in the control group, which was of statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:For middle and old age patients with severe craniocerebral injury, controlled decompression can gain obvious therapeutic effect, effectively reduce the incidence of postoperative complications, and it is worthy of clinical promotion.
