核屏蔽材料铅硼聚乙烯高温熔融处理研究 被引量:8

摘要 核辐射屏蔽材料铅硼聚乙烯对中子和γ射线均具有较好的屏蔽效果,因此在核反应堆辐射防护中使用广泛。使用过程中被核素污染的铅硼聚乙烯属于核废物,需要特殊处理。采用高温熔融玻璃固化的方式可以实现对铅硼聚乙烯的减容及固化处理。通过高温熔融的方式处理铅硼聚乙烯模拟核废物,研究结果表明,铅硼聚乙烯模拟核废物在900℃下即可熔融形成铅硼玻璃。然而产品一致性测试结果表明,该铅硼玻璃的核素及硼浸出值较高。通过引入一定量的玻璃添加剂(SiO2),其玻璃化学稳定性显著提高,达到核废物玻璃固化体化学稳定性要求。 Lead-boron polyethylene(LBP) is a popular nuclear shielding material because of the good shielding effect for neutron and γ rays. The contaminated LBP should be treated according to the radioactive waste management. Vitrification of LBP would be potential to reduce the volume of LBP waste and immobilize nuclides through high temperature treatment and melting. Thus, vitrification of simulated nuclear LBP was researched. The result shows that simulated LBP can turn into lead borate glass at temperature of 900 ℃. However, the product consistency test results show the releases of Sr and B from the as-made lead borate glass are quite high, whereas the chemical durability of lead borate glass is observably enhanced after adding amounts of SiO2, which is well within the durability criterion of nuclear waste-form.
