In early March, thePhilippines saw rapid jump in theoutbreak with a growing number ofconfirmed cases. In Manila, capital ofthe country, several major quarantinehospitals grappled with a troublingshortage of protective clothing, masksand other supplies, while at epidemicprevention checkpoints across thecity, police struggled to continuetheir day-to-day duties. Upon seeingthe new situation unfold, Filipino-Chinese volunteers, represented bySun Hu, began to act.
