摘要
"贺兰"是古突厥语驳马ala-hala复数形alan-halan的音译。驳马部别名曷剌是古突厥语ala-hala的复数形alat-halat的音译。驳马部别名遏罗支是古突厥语ha-la-??>a-la-??(有驳马者)的音译。古突厥语ala-hala最初是斑驳色马匹之义,后衍生出斑驳色之义。
The "He-Lan"(贺兰)was the transliteration of ancient Turkic alan-halan which was the plural form of ala-hala(驳马Bo-ma, piebald horse). He-La(曷剌), an another name of Bo-Ma(piebald horse)tribe, was the transliteration of ancient Turkic alat-halat which was the plural form of ala^hala’s(遏罗支ELuo-Zhi). It was another name of the Bo-Ma tribe and was the transliteration of old Turkicha-la-ci〉a-la-ci(the owner of the piebald horse). The ancient Turkic ala-hala was the original meaning of piebald horse, and later appeared the meaning of mottled color.
