摘要
清末皖人赴日留学的初始时间,学界有1906年、1905年、1902年、1899年和1896年五种说法。出现多种说法的一个重要原因,是混淆了自费、公费和官费的区别。清末皖人自费留学日本的时间应不晚于1899年,本省公费留日始于1904年,本省官费则始自1905年。外省官费的最早时间,1890年、1896年和1898年三种说法都有一定的依据。
There are five theories about the initial time of Anhui people studying in Japan in the late Qing Dynasty:1906,1905,1902,1899 and 1896.An important reason for the emergence of a variety of views is the confusion of the distinction between self-pay,public expense and government expense.In the late Qing Dynasty,it should not be later than 1899 when people in Anhui studied in Japan at their own expense.It was in 1904 that people in Anhui began to study in Japan at government expense,and in 1905 that provincial government in Anhui began to pay for study in Japan.As for the earliest time of study at government expense in other provinces,three kinds of statement of 1890,1896 and 1898 all have certain basis.
