Shorter and steadier relativistic electron beam with terahertz driven pulse compression

摘要 With the support by the National Natural Science Foundation of China,the research team led by Prof.Xiang Dao(向导)at the Key Laboratory for Laser Plasmas(Ministry of Education),School of Physics and Astronomy,Shanghai Jiao Tong University,demonstrated a novel technique to compress both the duration and timing jitter of the relativistic electron beam through manipulating the energy chirp of the beam with an intense THz pulse in a dielectric waveguide.
