摘要
明清时期水网密布的江南乡村聚落因其发达的商品经济和以水为主干的空间特色,成为学界关注的热点。丰富的研究成果大大地推进了对江南传统乡村聚落的理解,但也形成了一种对江南水乡聚落的固化认知。文章以处于水网运输系统之外的太湖东山、西山聚落为研究对象,分析了受地理环境影响而形成的空间要素和聚落形态特征,以及商帮对聚落建设的影响。东山、西山聚落不同于地处平原水网区的江南水乡聚落的特点,为理解江南聚落的多元性提供了例证。
Due to the prosperous commodity economy in the Ming and Qing dynasties and the impressive spatial characteristics of waterfront towns,the traditional settlements in the Yangtze River Delta(Jiangnan)has attracted the attention of many researchers.While the abundant research results promoted the understanding of traditional settlements in Jiangnan,they also formed a stereotypical cognition.This article focuses on the settlements on Dongshan and Xishan islands in the Taihu Lake which are beyond the watercourse network,analysing the influence of the geographical environment on the spatial elements and layouts of the settlements,and discussing the role of businessmen played on the construction of such settlements.The characteristics of these settlements which are different from those in the watercourse network in the plain provide examples for understanding the diversity of Jiangnan settlements.
