As one of the potential competitive events in China, fencing team’s performance fluctuates greatly. The Tokyo Olympic Games was forced to be postponed, which has a great impact on the preparation of our fencing team for the Olympic Games. The research shows that the postponement of the Olympic Games is conducive to the training of young athletes’skills and tactics, the rehabilitation of injured athletes, the psychological adjustment of young players, and the deep running in of foreign teachers,Chinese coaches and players. At the same time,it is also faced with the following challenges:it is difficult for the old athletes to maintain their competitive status, coaches and athletes have the psychological fatigue, bringing rich time for foreign research on Chinese athletes, the impact of the growth of foreign young players, the loss of the opportunity to substitute competition for practice, the uncertainty of qualification competition, the uncertainty of coach training plan, the uncertainty of injury of key athletes, etc.Preparing for the Olympic Games is a systematic project. We should inherit the experience of preparing for the games in the past, and also play well in the information war, psychological war, training war, medical protection war and support war.
