Due to the broken nature of geological structure of complex fault block reservoirs,it is difficult to form a regular well pattern.A precise classification of CO 2 gas injection modes is critical to improving development efficiency.Taking J Oilfield as an example, this paper divides the typical groups of complex fault block according to the existing well pattern, fault block shape and development mode;and optimises the corresponding mode of gas injection of different types of reservoir to generate the selection template of classified gas injection mode for different groups of complex fault block reservoir. The results show that for narrow-band reservoirs,bottom(edge)gas-water alternating method is best suited for water flooding development, while top row gas injection should be adopted for natural energy flooding development to increase the effect of gravity-assisted drainage. The horizontal well pattern reservoir should be developed by gas injection or alternate gas and water injection under the original well pattern. For extremely complex blocks, the gas injection mode of‘asynchronous huff and puff’is proposed to improve development efficiency. The classified gas injection mode is effective in guiding field application of CO 2 injection technology in J Oilfield, resulting in good enhanced oil recovery. It can be used as a reference for the gas injection development of other complex fault block reservoirs.
