摘要
基于汉英同传语料库中的检索结果表明,有近20%的汉语否定词“不”译被翻译成不含英语否定词的句子,其原因主要有三:英语中部分动词、形容词、副词、介词都可用来表示含蓄的否定意义;英语的比较级可表示“不如”“比不上”等否定意义;汉语双重否定被译为肯定句。这是汉英两种语言的结构差异以及民族思维习惯在否定表达形式差异方面的体现。
Based on a simultaneous Interpreting corpus,this study finds that about 20%of the Chinese negative character Bu(不)are not rendered into corresponding negative words,and there are three causes to this phenomenon.Some of verbs,adjectives,adverbs and prepositions in English may imply negative meanings.The comparative degree can express a negative meaning of"less than".The double negative sentences in Chinese are often interpreted into positive sentences.The great differences in language structure and thinking ways may answer for the phenomenon.
