摘要
1975年,美国文化历史学家詹姆斯·凯瑞着眼于对传播这一社会现象所蕴含的文化关联性加以揭示的需要,提出"传播是仪式"的观点,几乎再造了人们考察传播的新模式。然而随着消化与利用该洞见的热潮渐渐褪去,人们对于仪式观下的传播的索考已然浮现裹足不前的疲态。20世纪下半叶,激进微观社会学家兰德尔·柯林斯提出了互动仪式链理论,该创见由于阐释了人际互动中的行动者如何在情感能量的驱动下,唤起自身对于所在群体合法权威的忠诚,生产出共享的仪式团结,从而提出令互动得以启动和运行的隐在动力学,补足了仪式性传播的内在聚集机制和效果产出等要素未在凯瑞处得到说明的遗憾。
James Carey, an outstanding American cultural historian, put forward the view that communication is ritual through focusing on the need to reveal the cultural relevance of communication as social phenomenon in 1975, which almost reconstructed a new mode of people’s investigation of communication. However, as the upsurge of digesting and utilizing of Carey’s creative insight is gradually fading away, a flagging fatigue about researching on ritual communication has emerged. In the late 20 th century, Randall Collins who is a radical micro sociologist put forward the theory of Interaction Ritual Chains, which explains how social actors in interpersonal interaction who are driven by emotional energy arouse their loyalty to the legitimate authority of the social group they belong to, and produce shared ritual solidarity, so as to make interaction start as well as sustaining over time consequently. The revelation of this hidden mechanism of communication complement the regret which dynamic of internal gathering in interactive group as well as necessary elements such as effective output of ritual communication were not explained in Carey’s theory.
