摘要
纪庆曾长于史学而深于明史,对清代官修之《明史》多所批评。他认为《明史》初修未及剪裁润色,复修又所用非人,持论虽不尽确切,却表达出其对修史诸臣命篇著述的不满。基于此,纪氏提出诸多具体的改撰意见,包括列传和表的删并,文字润饰以及史事的选择与铨配三个方面。其中不乏切中要害的真知灼见,体现了他在明史与传统史学领域的极高造诣。有些主张甚至可以视作历史编撰的一般法则,为已至穷途的旧史体添入几分新意。
Ji Qingzeng,who was adept at historiography,especially the history of Ming Dynasty,had lots of comments on the History of Ming Dynasty.He held the idea that the writers didn’t have time to polish the book in the beginning of the writing period,and chose the wrong person in the revising stage.His idea may not be accurate enough,but it expressed his displeasure.Ji put forward many specific suggestions on the compilation of the book,including the deleting and merging of biographies and lists,the polishing of articles and the selection and distribution of historical events.Among them,there are quite a few penetrating views that show Ji’s great attainments.Some suggestions can be regarded as general principles of historical compilation,adding new ideas to the old historical style.
