Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of acupoint thread-embedding plus Chinese medication tea-replacement in treating impaired glucose regulation(IGR).Method A total of 200 IGR patients were randomized into a treatment group and a control group, with 100 cases in each group. The control group was only given life habits intervention(including diabetes-related health education, diet control and proper exercise),while the treatment group was given additional acupoint thread-embedding and Chinese medication tea-replacement.The laboratory indicators[fasting plasma glucose(FPG),2h-postprandial glucose(2hPG)and glycated hemoglobin(HbA1c)]were observed before and after treatment in the two groups. The reversion rate of normal glucose tolerance(NGT)was also compared after treatment.Result The laboratory indicators declined significantly after treatment in the two groups(P<0.05).After treatment, the level of 2hPG in the treatment group was significantly different from that in the control group(P<0.05).The reversion rate of NGT after intervention was 61.4%in the treatment group versus 38.8%in the control group, and the between-group difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Acupoint thread-embedding plus Chinese medication tea-replacement is an effective approach for IGR;it can increase the reversion rate of NGT in the patients.
