Objective To explore the therapeutic effect of traditional Chinese medicine retention enema on patients with intestinal obstruction. Methods 80 patients with intestinal obstruction admitted to the hospital from March,2019 to March,2020 were selected and grouped by random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group received conventional conservative treatment, and the observation group received traditional Chinese medicine retention enema on the basis of conventional conservative treatment.Clinical efficacy, symptom improvement time(disappearance of bowel sounds, diet recovery and disappearance of abdominal cramps),inflammatory indexes[interleukin-6(IL-6)and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)]of the two groups before and after treatment were compared. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 97.50%,which was higher than80.00%of the control group(P<0.05).The disappearance of bowel sounds, recovery of diet and disappearance of abdominal colic in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the serum IL-6 and TNF-αlevels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Retention of enema with Chinese herbs can accelerate the improvement of symptoms in patients with intestinal obstruction, reduce inflammation, and improve clinical efficacy.
