Objective To provide clinical guidance for pregnant women to supplement iodine reasonably and improve the birth quality of newborns by analyzing the changes of urine iodine levels in different pregnancies in Jianyang area. Methods Pregnant women were divided into groups according to gestational week, and healthy non-pregnant women were taken as control group.Urine iodine level was measured by redox process. Results In 2 227 pregnant women, the median level of was 229.6 μg/L.The ratios of iodine deficiency, moderate, more than moderate and excess were 37.6%,30.1%,23.5% and 8.8%.There was no statistically significant difference in urinary iodine levels among three years(χ~2= 4.236,P>0.05).The median urinary iodine of pregnant women in the early, middle and late stages were226.5,231.1 and 221.4 μg/L,respectively.There was no statistically significant difference in urinary iodine composition among pregnant women of different pregnancy groups(χ~2= 7.605,P>0.05).The composition ratio of urinary iodine in the control group and the pregnant group was statistically significant(χ~2= 33.98,P<0.05).Conclusion The proportion of urinary iodine deficiency in pregnant women in Jianyang is slightly lower than that in other areas. The iodine nutrition level of pregnant women is more serious lower than that of normal people. The detection of urine iodine level plays an important role in the supplement for pregnant women.
