Objective:Many ethnic medicines and combination drugs in China have significant effects in long-term clinical practice, but the active ingredients and mechanism of action are still unclear. This paper aims to explore the application status of systemic pharmacology methods in ethnic medicines and combination drugs, with a view to provide reference for relevant researchers. Methods:The systematic pharmacology methods were summarized, discussed and analyzed in the fields of Tibetan medicine,Mongolian medicine,Uyghur medicine and other national medicines and combination medicines. Results:In the study of ethnic medicine, the researchers used systematic pharmacology to scientifically clarify the basic theories of traditional Chinese medicine such as "blood quality theory" and "same disease treatment." In the study of combination drugs,we found that systemic pharmacology has great significance in explaining the rationality of Chinese herbal medicine combination, reducing drug-induced adverse reactions, and solving the reaction variability between different patients. Conclusion:The systemic pharmacology research system is helpful to explain the pharmacodynamic basis, mechanism of action and basic theory of Chinese medicine, and provides a new methodology for the modernization of ethnic medicine and the research of combination drugs.
