摘要
类型研究中存在着三大矛盾:类型语料库的包容性列表和挑剔性标准的分歧;类型理论研究和类型历史研究的相对地位;仪式研究方向和意识形态研究方向的对立等。这三大矛盾并不局限于单一批评流派或者单一类型,而是内含在类型分析的每个主要领域中,反映了类型观念的本质性缺陷。电影类型的语义/句法研究路径就是在此背景下诞生的。这种理解类型的新模式不仅为类型研究中的许多传统问题提供答案,而且提出了许多对类型理论发展来说至关重要的新问题。
There are three major contradictions in genre film research: the divergence of inclusive list and exclusive list to the constitution of a generic corpus;the relative status of theory and history in genre studies;the oppositions between ritual approach and ideological approach. These three contradictions are not only limited to a single school of criticism or of a single genre but implicit in every major field of genre analysis, reflecting constitutive weaknesses of the notions of genre. In this context, the semantic/syntactic approach was born. This new mode for understanding of genre not only provides answers to many of traditional questions to genre study, but also raises many new questions that are crucial to the development of genre film study.
