Objective To investigate effect of ultrasound-guided transthoracic axillary vein catheterization on the perioperative comfort and complications for patients with intracranial tumor. Methods 110 patients who underwent intracranial tumor surgery in our hospital from February 2018 to February 2019 were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the admission order, with 55 patients in each group. The control group received ultrasound-guided catheterization through internal jugular vein, and the observation group received ultrasound-guided catheterization through axillary vein. After catheterization, comfort, length of stay and complications were observed and compared between the two groups. Results The comfort of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).The hospitalization time of the observation group was shorter than that of the control group(P<0.05).The incidences of tube removal and catheter blockage in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05);the incidences of skin injury and puncture infection in the two groups were not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion The application of the ultrasound-guided transthoracic axillary vein catheterization can improve the perioperative comfort degree for intracranial tumor surgery patients, shorten hospital stay and lower complications, which is recommended.
