As an important part of lubricants,additives were the key components to improve many performances of lubricants.With the change of industrial structure,the demand structure of lubricants additives had also changed.Dispersants,viscosity index improvers and detergents had become more functional additives.It was analyzed and summarized for the market situation of lubricants additives from the consumption of additives,market scale,function distribution,market share and manufacturers.Affected by the COVID-19 pandemic,the consumption of lubricants additives in the world dropped by 0.3 Mt to 4.35 Mt in 2020,and the market scale decreased by 700 million US dollars to 14.4 billion US dollars.With the shift of global lubricants focused to the Asia-Pacific region,the actual consumption of lubricants additives had entered a new round of growth cycle.It was estimated that by the year 2025,the global consumption of lubricants additives would increase to 5.70 Mt,and the market scale would be about 19.5 billion US dollars.China was one of the largest consumers of lubricants additives in the world.Domestic lubricants additives were dominated by Lubrizol,Infineum,Chevron Oronite and Afton.And the consumption increased from 750.5 kt in year 2013 to 925.8 kt in year 2020,with an average annual growth rate of about 3.35%.By 2026,the supply of domestic lubricants additives would expect to reach 2490 kt,and the consumption would increase to 2420 kt,with huge growth space and market scale.
