摘要
语言服务产业融合是全球语言产业在驱动力作用下与技术、服务和信息等相关行业交织、融合从而产生新业态的过程。文章基于语言服务和产业融合基本内涵,梳理了全球多语种产业融合发展历程,分析三种主要嵌套融合的运动机理及融合模式,归纳全球语言服务产业融合的演进趋势,最后分析我国语言服务产业融合发展及实现路径,以期为全球化时代语言服务产业良性发展提供参考。
In light of the theory of language services and industrial convergence,this paper examines the convergence of the global language service industry in the tertiary sector.In essence,industrial convergence results from the interaction of interests and demands of different language service industries,as well as a self-organizing process of dynamic evolution.This paper firstly combs the development of integration in global multilingual industries,which could be divided into the 5 stages:the embryonic stage(1960-1970),initial development stage(1971-1990),rapid take-off stage(1991-2012),full-speed development stage(2013-2019)and post-epidemic stage(2020-present).Since the multilingual industries connects and interacts with each other in the global political and economic system through intensifying movement or structural integration to realize the economic benefits of enterprises or expand the market,it’scrucial to enhance research of convergence in the global language service industry.This paper attempts to distinguish different types of multilingual industry integration through qualitative analysis,including interaction-expanded model,restructuring-alternative model,infiltration model by nested fusion,and motion mechanisms of the global language service industry.At present,the evolution of global language service industry bears the following characteristics:(1)With the increasing demand for language services in the international community,the language service industry has expanded so widely through the superposition of"language+technology","language+service"or"technology+service",ranging from major global market research to language service,from a buyer.smarket to all consumers and technology providers;(2)The dominant scope of language service industry is in Europe and America,so the overall strength and market influence of the top 10 enterprises in Europe and America are much higher than other enterprises;(3)Artificial intelligence technology has changed the content and working mode of the language service industry.The emergence of machine translation has also triggered the"sense of survival crisis"for human translation sector;(4)China is experiencing great changes unseen by the world in a century.In the process of adjustments and changes of power dynamics,China’slanguage service industry has been rising progressively and has become"an important part of the global industrial chain"during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.Recently,China’slanguage service industry is shifting from cultural and technological inputs to outputs.With the further development of China’slanguage service industry,the proportion of output may be increasing,which raises high demands for the macro design and top-level planning of China’slanguage service.Finally,the paper sums up the convergence path and implementation mode of China’smulti-language service industry.In this era of big data,China’slanguage service industry should take the overall national security as the starting point to promote the"one body and three moves"model and accelerate the construction of the language service industry with Chinese characteristics.This can be accomplished by top-level planning,technology empowerment,integration of industry,and through research of the academia.
