心理动词“想”的多义性:基于语料库的行为特征分析 被引量:9

The Polysemy of the Mental Verb Xiang “Think”: A Corpus-based Behavioral Profile Analysis

摘要 以往汉语词汇多义性的研究以定性研究为主,基于语料库的量化分析尚不多见。本文运用基于语料库的行为特征分析法,对心理动词"想"的多义性进行研究。本研究从北京大学现代汉语口语子语料库中筛选出1523条语例,对它们进行了13个大类42个小类的语言学特征标注,然后用层次聚类分析法进行统计分析。结果显示,"想"的原型义是"思考",其多个义项可分为"认知"和"情意"两大类,并可细分为"猜测""判断""联想"和"情意"四小类。据此,本研究构建了"想"的多义网络体系,并分析了其各个义项间的连接机制,发现其语义拓展主要有两种路径:一是通过概念转喻,在认知域中从思考义拓展到猜测义、判断义和联想义;二是通过概念隐喻从认知域映射到情意域,表示情感和意愿。 Most previous studies on Chinese polysemy are qualitative but the corpus-based quantitative studies are rare.The present study investigates the polysemy of the Chinese mental verb xiang using a corpus-based behavioral profile approach.A total of 1523 instances were collected from the spoken part of the CCL corpus compiled by Peking University.The data were annotated for 42 inguistic features that fall into 13 main categories.A hierarchical agglomerative cluster analysis was performed.The results show that the prototypical meaning of xiang is"to ponder"and its senses can be classified into two categories:COGNITION and EMOTION,which can be further categorized into four sub-types,including"guess","judgement","association",and"feeling and intention".Based on the results,this study constructs a polysemy network of xiang and examines the linking mechanism between its senses.It is found that semantically xiang extends from its prototypical meaning to the other meanings via two cognitive processes.One is extending its meanings metonymically from denoting"to ponder"to indicating"to guess","to judge"or"to associate"in the domain COGNITION.The other is extending its meanings metaphorically from COGNITION to EMOTION to convey feelings and intentions.
