With Translation as Adaptation and Selection as theoretical framework, this paper selected 28 pulse condition terms as research object and analyzed the translated versions of pulse condition terms by comparing Terms of Traditional Chinese Medicine,WHO International Standard Terminologies on Traditional Medicine in the Western Pacific Region and International Standard Chinese-English Basic Nomenclature of Chinese Medicine Translation in the Chinese-English Standard.Through the comparative analysis, this study tried to point out the best version of the 28 pulse condition terms from the dimension of language, culture and communication respectively. In terms of language dimension, the English translation of TCM pulse condition terms should pay attention to the consistency between the translation structure and the original structure. The choice of words in the translation must accurately reflect the original meaning of the pulse condition and avoid direct application of Western medical terms. In terms of cultural dimension,English translation of TCM pulse condition terms should pay attention to the metaphorical characteristics of pulse condition and the transmission of"image metaphor analogy"thinking in TCM.In terms of communication dimension,English translation of TCM pulse condition terminology should use common words to improve the adaptability of the communicative dimension.
