摘要
通过问卷调查,本文从反语评价类型(实验一)和反语语篇标记(实验二)两个角度考察语篇特征对反语认知难度以及读者接受程度的影响。研究发现,隐性反语的主观认知难度高于显性反语,读者对显性反语评价的接受程度高于隐性反语评价;语篇标记的使用能提高读者理解阅读材料的客观正确率,并且能降低反语目标句及其所在篇章的认知难度;反语表达所包含的语篇标记可以提高读者对反语表达及其所在篇章的接受程度。相较于认知难度较低的本义表达,读者更喜欢认知难度相对高一点的低难度反语表达及其所在的篇章,这说明具有适当复杂性的话语表达及篇章在一定程度上能更有效地实现交际目的,获得较好的交际效果。
The effect of textual characteristics on the cognitive difficulty and subjective acceptance of irony was examined through a questionnaire from both perspectives of evaluation type(Experiment 1) and discourse marking(Experiment 2). It is found that the explicitly evaluative irony is perceived as less difficult and is more appreciated than the implicitly evaluative irony;and that irony markers can increase comprehension, reduce perceived difficulty and make attitude towards the utterance more positive. Readers prefer the less cognitively difficult ironic expressions and the discourse in which they are located to, thus demonstrating that the ironic expressions and the discourse with appropriate complexity can achieve the communicative purpose more effectively and achieve better communicative effect.
